I Only Joined to Rub Rexy All Over The Gay Clubhouse.

:)

Seriously, I know he's prone to wet the bed (shit down his leg, cry, whatever), he's also prone to air the ball out on occasion. If we could figure out how to get two (or three) speed guys stretching the defensive backs more than once per half, no team would put eight in the box. So, if Grossie had an extra second or two to check down, I contend that he'd be back to the 90+ rated QB we saw half of last year.

This year, I'm more concerned about a third-string running back that we cut last year running for lots of yards against us. Nobody could run on us last year. Maybe Tank was better than I thought. Maybe Darwin Walker (like A. Archuleta) was more of a bust than a boom. Maybe Urlacher's back still hurts. 34 points and seemingly at will 3rd down conversions against us by a half-ass team is what worries me about the future.

Back to the original point - if we dump Grossman, who would you try to pick up that would solidify the QB position?

I like Clint Dolezel.

Who the fuck is Clint Dolezel? He's the QB for the Dallas Desparados arena team. I may be out of my fucking mind, but check out his stats - 107 TDs and 9 interceptions last season.
Fuck, We'd be lucky if Rex had only 9 interceptions and 107 yards.
With Hester giving us the great field position, we could use an effective short-field QB.

If that fails, kidnap Jake Plummer's puppy and hold it at gunpoint until he agrees to return to the NFL and play for the Bears.

Rashied Davis came from arena football. I like him - tough player and all - but it's a much bigger field with much more complicated defense than the arena league.

And didn't Plummer spell Griese in Denver? Why re-enact that whole thing again? If I recall correctly, Plummer was starting to lose it before he bailed to the Ricky Williams school of self-medication.

My money is still on Chris Leak if we MUST give up on Rex. He's got the Kurt Warner story and he looked really good in the preseason. Oh wait, I think he signed with some brand new football league (not Arena). Maybe that's why we haven't seen him yet.

Maybe we can get Aaron Rowand for RB...

I've given this some thought (not much, but possibly enough).

We could get Derek Anderson from the Browns at the end of this season (he'll be up on the block). If he can turn Cleveland into an AFC contender, he should be able to take Chicago even further.

I also like Hawaii's Colt Brennan - He should still be available in the draft by the Bear's turn. Fuck, we might even be able to get Howie Long's kid (not a QB, but impressive)if we keep relying on Grossie to win games.

I finally see Angelo's strategy: Re-sign Grossman and then spend the next 5 years sucking up high-end draft prospects.
It worked for the Chargers.

There you go.

It's personal between DC and Rex. Could be that Grossman smirk. Also, the Superbowl was one game he did help fuck up.

Me, I think Grossman still has an arm not to be taken lightly. You missed that arm when Griese was QBing. When we had another running back, Rex could sell the play action very well. He's got receivers dropping balls, he's got penalties being called on completions, and most importantly, when you look at the protection other productive QBs get, he just doesn't have it. That is the main gist of the Bears offensive woes. No one talks crap about offensive linemen, because that is impolitic (especially when they block for you). And journalists don't write about them because their game is, well, boring to most people. As for Rex, there is not much you can do in under two seconds after the ball is snapped unless you've established a threat in other areas.

So pour some Rexy on meeee....
