Holy crap, Zambrano's good. Chicagosports dot com reported that, after tonight's 4 for 5 performance, Big Z's season average is higher than any Pirates starting position player. All that while throwing 7 innings of 4 hit baseball.
If the Cubs make it into October, it might be a good idea for Lou to start Zambrano in every game played... In all positions... Like Satchel Page on both sides of the plate.

Proven again last night. All the way to the 8th with 120+ pitches. I don't understand why they want to curtail the emotions - why not figure out how to manipulate them?
I admire Z and to a lesser extent guys like the Mike Hamptons and even Marquis of the world who take their job seriously whether they are hitting or pitching.
Z is way better than both of these guys and it looks like he is growing up despite some minor snafus here and there
