Coupla things...

So, the Dodgers walked Kosuke to load the bags (and here's the sad part) in order to bring Soriano to the plate. And Soriano (here's the sadder part) struck out. How much do we pay that asshole? Ironically, the Cubs did the same thing to the dodgers and (here's the saddest part) they got a grand slam.

Why has so much of the sports reporting in Chicago been about who called who a "doo-doo head," or whatever. Are we in Junior High?

Lou has lost the leash on the Cubs. Barring a miracle finish, we need to start a new cycle of false hope. I vote we hire Erin Andrews to manage the Cubs. At least the post-loss news conferences will be worth watching.

Rex Grossman has become the NFL's Mark Prior.

Finally, fuck baseball. It's a stupid sport.

Harnish

NIU's sophmore starting quarterback, Chandler Harnish, and the senior leaders of the defense and offensive line, at the urging of coach Kill (best name for a football coach ever), have spent the summer drilling at least twice a week on their own. They're heading into a meat grinder on the road at Madison in their first game this season. I think that will either harden them or destroy them.

Please, wish them luck. And if anyone has any interest in coming out for a tailgaiting adventure this season, check out the scedule and let me know.
